Nearly 100 years after its creation, the power of the Federal Reserve has never been greater. Its decisions determine the fates of enormous corporations in an instant, create trillions of dollars of government liabilities in the blink of an eye, and hold the stability of our society in the balance. Yet the average American knows very little about the most powerful financial institution on earth.

The Fed Project—a feature length documentary about the Federal Reserve made by a team that includes winners of AFI, Sundance, and Academy Awards—seeks to change this by educating a mainstream American audience about the history of our central bank and exploring its many points of impact on our society. The goal of the film is to present the history of Fed policies over the past century, including those leading up to the recent financial crisis, and to generate public debate about the Fed’s critical role in determining the economic future of our nation.

The film, already well into production, will feature the brightest economic minds from across the ideological spectrum, including more than a dozen current and former Fed officials. Our first round of filming has produced over 70 hours of insightful commentary, and we are in the early stages of the editing process.

But we need your support to keep moving forward.
